Not just one song, but a whole album! I had just bought Franz Ferdinand’s album Tonight and was listening to that during the time I was reading The Summer Garden. Now whenever I hear it, it always reminds me of Tatiana and Alexander. :)

    Dear Paullina,
this is the magnificent piece of music which reminds me of Tatiana and
    Alexander:
    Dimitri Shostakovich’s – Jazz Suite No. 2: VI. Waltz 2 -wow-that makes a
    heartbreaking combo.
    kind regards,
    Daria
    P.S.
Last Saturday I tried to bake the Delicious Rum Cake from “Tatiana’s
    Recipes”.
Firstly, there were not flour in it(!),secondly, too much salt and pepper(!!)
and lastly…far too much fuss about baking:)
    That was good!

The Power Of Love – Celine Dion: It reminds me of Tatiana & Alexander and their undying love and passion for each other. It is the type of song that gives you that tingling feeling & that is how Paulina makes her readers feel by writing this beautiful love story so magically!!!

Come on Get Higher –by Matt Nathanson.

This song describes an intimacy and a love that is seen in Tatiana and Alexander’s relationship. One lyric in particular, “Faith and desire and the swing of your hips,” reminds me of Tatiana and Alexander’s time in Lazarevo.

  15. Hanna Gal says:

    Love is a many-splendored thing,
It’s the April rose that only grows in the early spring,
Love is nature’s way of giving a reason to be living,
The golden crown that makes a man a king.
Once on a high and windy hill,
In the morning mist two lovers kissed and the world stood still,
Then your fingers touched my silent heart and taught it how to sing,
    Yes, true love’s a many-splendored thing.

I love this song – LOVE IS A MANY SPLENDORED THING, I think it suits the love of Tatiana and Alexander!

  16. Victoria Simone says:

I have loved your books since I first randomly selected The Bronze Horseman from a vast array of other novels. Your writing somehow delves deep into people’s inner most emotions and pulls them to the surface. I would be honored to have a signed copy of this novel, as since I first read your book you have trumped all other authors on my list of favorites. The song I picked speaks to me, almost as much as your novels.

  17. Jeanie Bord says:

I think the song Endless Love suits the love of Tatiana and Alexander.

You know how some things just fit. Well it just fits.

“And then I open up and see
The person falling here is me
    A different way to be
I want more, impossible to ignore
I want more, impossible to ignore
And they’ll come true, impossible not to do
And they’ll come true, impossible not to do”

  22. Sophia F. says:

    Howl-Florence and the Machine
It is just like there love is so deep and they go to the ends of the earth to find each other, like when Tatiana hunts Alexander down in germany. I know its probably not as sweet as the other songs people are describing but oh well.

  23. The song for Tatiana &Alexander is
The first time I saw your face sang by Roberta Flack

    • Brandi Collier says:

Faith Hill – “Baby you Belong” – Because God brought Tatia and Shura together and seperated them when it needed to be done, and helped them find each other in just enough time. Even though they are only characters in a story they were made for eachother they belong together on those beautifully written pages. Tatiana is Alexanders rock and visa versa.

Alice in Chains – “Rooster” – Just read the lyrics for yourself :)

Ain’t found a way to kill me yet
      Eyes burn with stinging sweat
Seems every path leads me to nowhere
      Wife and kids household pet
Army green was no safe bet
The bullets scream to me from somewhere

Here they come to snuff the rooster

      Walkin’ tall machine gun man
They spit on me in my home land
Gloria sent me pictures of my boy
Got my pills ‘gainst mosquito death
My Buddy’s breathin’ his dyin’ breath
Oh god please won’t you help me make it through

Here they come to snuff the rooster, aww yeah
Yeah here come the rooster, yeah
You know he ain’t gonna die
No, no, no ya know he ain’t gonna die

Sorry my comments were so long.

I have many songs that remind me of Tatia and Shura but two of the main ones are:

Faith Hill – “Baby You Belong” – For the two of them.

Alice in Chains – “Rooster” makes me think of Alexander.

    Paullina,

I just want you to know that this series drew me in from the very beginning. I am a farely new fan of yours. The raw emotion and love between Tatiana and Alexander is absolutely beautiful. This series is my all time favorite. I have passed my books along to so many family members and friends hoping they would enjoy them as much as I have. I have re-read them multiple times and they are better each time .. i wish their story would never end. Yesterday I finished reading and said “I am going to try and email Paullina, and tell her how much I love this story. I am dieing to read the conclusion.” I had no idea there would be a 3rd book (although the 2nd did end in a way that would suggest that) or a movie being made (which I will be sure to see the opening night!). But I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. Good stories like yours are a great get away from everyday life.

You have touched so many people from all walks of life, it’s beautiful.

  30. Daria Bartosiewicz says:

    KIEDY UMRĘKOCHANIE
Untitled (“When I Die My Darling”) – Halina Poświatowska
    Translated by Marek Lugowski

    when I die my darling
when I part with the sun
to become an oblong object rather sad

will you then draw me closer
    embrace me
and fix what savage fate broke

    I often think of you
    I often write to you

silly letters — love within them and smiles

then I hide them in the stove
let the flame jump word to word
before it calmly goes to sleep in the ashes

looking in the flame my darling
I am thinking — what will happen
to my heart hungry for love

so please do not allow after all
for me to die in a world
which is dim and which is cold

  33. Dorota Iskra says:

    Dear Paullina
This is the song which reminds me T&A story:
Joe dassin- ” et si tu n’existais pas” this is the song about Tatiana and Aleksander.
love in spite of adversity, and love – perhaps even more difficult in everyday life and, above all, love to the end

Another one this is “Hymn of the love” (of a Letter of St. Paul to the Corinthians 13,1-13)

Thank you to share with us your talent. I have no words (especially in English – I’m Polish) to express how much T & A story touched me as much conquered my mind … not even thought that I have ever lived are reading this novel – and read a lot.
    Thank you again.

  34. jessica bastidas-viera says:

Oh my god. Hope I’m not too late. Love TBH series. No books have touched me in this way. I carry Tatiana and Alexander’s story with me everyday. Thank you Paullina for this gift you’ve given us. Here goes.

TBH – Unintended by Muse – As heartwrenching as T&A’s love
    T&A – White as snow by U2
TSG – Unchained melody by righteous brothers – I can see through their curtains. Tatia and Alexander dancing in their living room in their Arizona home

Finally, White Nights by Ludovico Einaudi. Found this on youtube while researching white nights in leningrad. Beautiful
